FITNESS & ACTIVE LIVING PROGRAMS

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)

A strength, balance, and low-impact fitness program designed specifically for older adults. SAIL helps build muscle strength, improve balance, and increase flexibility to support an active, independent lifestyle.

Matter of Balance

Designed to increase activity levels, strength, and balance while reducing the fear of falling.

  • 8-week program
  • 2-hour sessions (weekly or twice weekly for 4 weeks)
  • Suited for all fitness levels

Tai Ji Quan

Uses gentle movements and principles of Tai Ji to improve balance and build confidence in everyday activities.

  • 12-week program
  • 60-minute sessions, twice per week
  • Led by trained volunteers
  • Suitable for all fitness levels

Walk with Ease

Helps participants build a safe, enjoyable walking routine. This program improves strength, balance, and walking pace while reducing pain and discomfort from arthritis or other conditions.

Bingocize®

A fun, engaging program that combines bingo, exercise, and health education. Designed to improve strength, balance, cognition, and overall mobility while supporting independence.

CHRONIC CONDITION SELF-MANAGEMENT

Living Well with Chronic Conditions

Supports individuals and caregivers managing ongoing health conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, COPD, high blood pressure, heart disease, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and more.

  • 6-week program
  • Meets once per week for 2.5 hours

Living Well with Diabetes

Designed for individuals with type 2 diabetes to develop strategies for improving well-being and managing symptoms. Participants learn practical, everyday techniques for better health.

  • 6-week program
  • Meets once per week for 2.5 hours

Living Well with Chronic Pain

Focuses on managing chronic pain and improving quality of life. Topics include:

  • Coping with frustration and fatigue
  • Improving sleep
  • Reducing isolation
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare providers and loved ones

CARE & CAREGIVER WELLNESS

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Helps caregivers care for themselves while caring for others. Participants gain practical tools to reduce stress, improve communication, and maintain personal well-being.

  • 6-week program
  • Includes a Caregiver Help Book and additional resources

MENTAL & EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

Mindful Meditation

Encourages participants to be present in the moment and develop awareness in daily life. This practice can help reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, and break patterns of overwhelm or autopilot living.

Aging with Gusto

A series of facilitated discussions that provide tools, insights, and conversations focused on living fully and intentionally while aging.

SPECIALIZED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Simulated Dementia Experience (Virtual Dementia Tour)

An evidence-based, interactive experience that helps participants better understand the physical and mental challenges of living with dementia.

Through this immersive sensory experience, participants gain:

  • Greater empathy and understanding
  • Improved communication skills
  • Insight into creating supportive environments

This powerful program allows individuals to “walk in the shoes” of someone living with dementia—leading to more compassionate and effective care.
